			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>Maxitrol Eye drops are available by prescription only and are typically used to treat infections of the eye. Alcon Laboratories Limited, United Kingdom, markets and distributes Maxitol Eye Drops.</p>
<p>Active ingredients in Maxitrol Eye Drops are dexamethasone, neomycin sulphate and polymyxin B sulphate. The inert ingredients include benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, sodium chloride, polysorbate 20, hypromellos and purified water. Hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide may be present small amounts.</p>
<p>The main ingredient in Maxitrol Eye Drops is a steroid called dexamethasone. Dexamthasone is an anti-inflammatory and used to reduce swelling of the eye. Maxitrol also has the antibiotics, polymyxin B sulphate and neomycin sulphate to fight against infection.</p>
<p>Use of Maxitrol is for short term only and should only be used for the prescribed time.</p>
<p>When is it not appropriate to use Maxitrol Eye Drops?</p>
<p>If you have been diagnosed with herpes of the eye.<br />
If you have been diagnosed with an amoebic infection.<br />
If you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant.<br />
If you have been diagnosed with kidney or liver disease.<br />
If you are nursing a child<br />
If you are allegoric to certain medications.<br />
If you have been diagnosed with Sjögren’s disease.</p>
<p>Instructions for Using Maxitrol Eye Drops</p>
<p>Always wash your hands before touching your eyes. Using your index finger place it below your eyelid and gently pull it away from the eye. Insert one to two drops in each eye six times a day or as instructed by your doctor for the prescribed length of time. Do not double dose if a dose is missed. If too much is used, simply rinse eyes with warm water.</p>
